First of all, let’s get something strait… we are talking about a three way regarding furniture, get your mind out of the gutter! ?Now that we got that out of the way, recently on one of my late night searches on EBTH.com, I stumbled upon a dreamy vintage wicker console that I won in a bidding war (yay)! I also have found some amazing vintage accessories that I’m gaga over.
If you’re not familiar with EBTH, it’s an online estate sale, where everything starts at $1. Yes, you read that correctly, one dollar. Winning an auction item is basically like winning the lottery. You may or may not become obsessed, just a warning.
I thought it would be fun to get a little creative and see where and how this table could come to life. Having pieces of furniture that have multiple purposes is always more attractive.
Use these three different set-ups as inspiration for when you’re looking for a new piece of furniture or simply as a way to think differently about something you already have!
As an avid entertainer, I am always setting up everything from buffets to bars. The wicker table as the foundation allowed me to play with more elevated pieces such as blue and white china and even little crystal goblets? to off-set the beachy table.
All eyes on that vintage Tiffany & Co. decanter?that wreaks of chic! To be honest, you don’t need to have fancy vodka inside… the vessel alone is statement.
Vases are not just for flowers! Using very traditional vases for pops of color and unexpected containers is something I adore and frequently do when entertaining.
Mixing and matching totally works. You just have to have the right balance of colors (not too many), textures, and don’t overcrowd a table where it feels to clunky.
You don’t have to be a plant lady to have a potting station. In fact, this is a great way to have beautiful plants outside and feel like you are really a pro. You just need a few essential items (table aside). ?From planters?to pots, there is really no formula to follow when creating this vibe.
Chose things that simply make you happy. It’s a great way to mix elements such as fresh flowers to easy-to maintain herbs. This vase travels from inside to outside all the time.
The best part of everything, is that I have been collecting some of these for years and everything really works together. It’s a big theme in my life to layer elements and create color stories that are somewhat neutral with happy pops of color.
Speak of color… I am in love with these two planters. The hue of the glaze is so striking I didn’t want to have a contrasting color, so I decided to fill them with fresh rosemary plants. Going all green is regal and feels right.
When you walk into your home you want to feel comfortable and cozy. Reimaging this console table just under a window upon entering inside is pretty much perfection. Aside from it fitting perfectly in this nook, it really works to house a few essential décor items that are near and dear to me, as well as a great focal point. Raj (the cat) approves as well.
Most people have to be creative with their space, as they don’t always have tons of extra room or storage space. Rolling throw blankets and housing them in a rattan tray is a little out of the box, and I dig it. Do what works for you.
Creating a space that houses things that are near and dear to you (aka fav photo of the fiancé, candles and an orchid) is really what it’s all about. Setting up a tablescape that is one part decorative and also holds sentimental value is key. Again, not over merchandising an area and focusing on a color palate that everyone will see when they walk in needs to be soothing and calming.
Pro tip: I usually purchase my orchids from the grocery story and simply re-pot them into a chic vintage planter?and nobody ever suspects!
No matter how you style your home, pieces of furniture or special trinkets, just remember that there are no rules. The more creative you are with your space, the bigger the feeling of accomplishment and enjoyment it will bring!
PS- Thanks EBTH, for helping us to make this house a home!
