Bold, bright, gorgeous statement earrings seem to be everywhere this summer. So of course, we had to create our own! We will wearing these babies day and night!  They are so lightweight, and super easy to create.

To create, you will need:

1 package of Sculpey clay

parchment paper

Earring backs

Glue e6000

Nail polish (whatever color you prefer!)

Rolling pin

Craft knife

Circular glass

Olive oil

To get started, break off the pre-scored section Sculpey and flatten onto the Parchment paper.

Place the clay onto a piece of parchment paper. This will make sure the clay will not stick to your surface. Flatten out the Sculpey by using your rolling pin until you have a long, thin strip. About 1 inch wide, and the thickness should be about ?” wide. It just depends on how thick you want your hoops to be.

Take your craft knife and cut straight strips – use a ruler to guide you if you don’t have a steady hand.

You should have 2 perfectly cut, thin strips of clay – about ?” inch wide. Discard the outside strips of clay and save for your next pair.

Take a small cup (this is a tiny juice glass) and add a tiny bit of oil to the rim. This is to ensure the clay doesn’t stick when shaping the earring.

Wrap your earring strip around the outside edge of the cup leave about a 1.5” inches between both sides for your hoop. Cut of the excess clay.

Preheat your oven to 275  degrees.

Carefully move your Parchment paper (with hoops) onto a cookie sheet.

Once your oven is up to temp bake your hoops for 10-12 minutes – depending on your oven. Let them sit until totally cool.

Next, using your nail polish color of choice paint those hoops!

Wait for the top side to dry and then flip and paint the back and sides.

Depending on your polish, you may need two coats.

Finally, using glue, adhere the earring backs to your hoops. e600 is the glue that can stick anything to everything. You just have to wait about 24 hours for them to dry completely. If you try to speed up the process and reach for a glue gun, chances are they earring backs will fall off.

Pair these bold statement earrings with a chic blouse or your favorite dress. The best thing about statement jewelry is that it turns up the heat for just about every look!
